NHL Rumors: New Team Enters van Riemsdyk Sweepstakes
The Dallas Stars have had a very good season thus far, and they are expected to be major buyers at the trade deadline because of it. One area that they could look to improve is their top six, so they reportedly have been looking at some scoring wingers on the market. According to The Fourth Period, they are one of the teams linked to Philadelphia Flyers forward James van Riemsdyk because of it.
When looking at the Stars’ forward group, it is apparent that they could use an upgrade to their second line. Bringing in JVR would provide them with just that, as he is still very productive at this point in his career. He could work very well on the line with Tyler Seguin and Mason Marchment and also receive plenty of time on their power play due to his strong net-front presence ability.
JVR is expected to receive an abundance of interest at the deadline, so the Stars will have a lot of competition to acquire his services. We will need to wait and see if Dallas ends up being the lucky team to acquire JVR before the deadline passes.
