Ottawa Senators Rumors: Goalie Being Linked to Golden Knights
Ottawa Senators goalie Cam Talbot is starting to get a lot of attention on the trade market now that the 2023 Trade Deadline is rapidly approaching. The Los Angeles Kings and Pittsburgh Penguins have been noted as two possible landing spots for him, but now a new team has entered the mix. According to The Fourth Period, the Vegas Golden Knights are "exploring the possibility" of acquiring Talbot due to Logan Thompson currently being sidelined.
The Golden Knights are going to have some money to work with, as Mark Stone is out indefinitely, so $9.5 million is available for them to use. As a result, if they are concerned about Thompson's health during the final stretch of the year, adding Talbot for some insurance certainly sounds like a smart decision.
Talbot is a pending unrestricted free agent (UFA) on a struggling Senators team, so a trade seems inevitable at this juncture. We will need to wait and see where he ends up from here, but on paper, the Golden Knights do seem like a great possible trade destination for the veteran netminder.
