While on Hockey Night in Canada, NHL insider Jeff Marek reported that Ottawa Senators forward Austin Watson is available for trade.

Although Watson is not a star, he could certainly grab some attention as we get closer to the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline. The 2010 first-round pick has the potential to be a decent fourth-line forward or depth forward for a playoff team. With that, he would give another club a lot more grit and toughness during the final stretch of the year, so there should be a market for him.
Some teams that stand out as potential landing spots for Watson include the Edmonton Oilers, Boston Bruins, New York Rangers, Seattle Kraken, and Calgary Flames. No matter where he ends up, hockey fans should not be surprised if he does not finish the year as a member of the Senators. He is a prime rental candidate, but alas, we will need to wait and see if he's dealt elsewhere from here.
