San Jose Sharks Rumors: Erik Karlsson Trade Update
The San Jose Sharks have already traded star winger Timo Meier and now all the attention turns to what they'll do with Norris trophy favorite Erik Karlsson. All signs are pointing towards a quiet trade deadline on the Karlsson front and likely a move that is made this upcoming summer.
Karlsson has turned back the clock and is playing some great hockey. The 32-year-old blueliner has recorded 77 points in 60 games so far this season and it's his contract that is the biggest hurdle in trade talks. Karlsson is set to make $11.5 million against the cap through the 2026-27 season, and he holds a no-movement clause and controls his own destiny.
While talks may be quiet this week, look for the Sharks and Ottawa Senators to re-engage in trade discussions this offseason with the likelihood of him going back North very high.
