Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors: Insider Suggests RHD Trade Interest
The Toronto Maple Leafs are expected to make another trade ahead of the March 3 trade deadline and if/when they do, look for the team to add a defenseman. While the team has been linked to several right-handed defense of late, include Radko Gudas of the Florida Panthers, hockey insider Chris Johnston recently suggested the team has Vancouver Canucks Luke Schenn on their radar.
Schenn was a first-round pick of the Maple Leafs back in 2008. The 33-year-old blueliner is tough as nails and leads the league in hits this season. He's a pending free agent who at $850,000 could easily be fit in under the Maple Leafs $4.4 million deadline cap space.
Schenn is on the radar of several teams ahead of the deadline including another old team in the Tampa Bay Lightning, along with the Seattle Kraken. Here's what Johnston had to say about Schenn to the Leafs:
