Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Defenseman Linked to Winnipeg Jets
The Winnipeg Jets are preparing to be buyers at the 2023 NHL Trade Deadline, and they have been linked to multiple players because of it. Yet, a new one is on their radar, as The Fourth Period has reported that the Jets are linked to Vancouver Canucks defenseman Luke Schenn.
There is no question that the Jets could use a bit more depth on their roster before the playoffs are here, and Schenn would provide them with just that. He could serve an as option on their bottom pairing with Nate Schmidt due to his strong physicality and reliable defensive play. With that, he would also give the Jets more experience on the backend, so that is also another major reason why he could be a strong addition to their group.
There are several other teams in on Schenn like the Calgary Flames, Boston Bruins, Tampa Bay Lightning, Minnesota Wild, and Edmonton Oilers, so the Jets have a ton of competition for his services. We will need to wait and see if they end up being the lucky team to acquire him from here.
