3 Ottawa Senators Not Expected Back Next Season
The Ottawa Senators will look much different next season as this summer is expected to be a busy one for general manager Pierre Dorion. Here's three Senators who aren't expected back next season:
Derick Brassard
While he's been nothing but a pro every day of the week, expect to see the Senators move on from veteran forward Derick Brassard. The 35-year-old is a pending unrestricted free agent and has produced 12 goals in 52 games this season. They'll be some suitors for the veteran and look for the Sens to let him walk.
Cam Talbot
It was surprising to many that Cam Talbot wasn't moved ahead of the trade deadline this season. There was some interest from a couple of playoff-bound teams and look for Talbot to hit the open market in July and cash in on a one-year deal. It just won't be with the Sens.
Nick Holden
Veteran defenseman Nick Holden was also a trade candidate this season and wasn't moved. He's a pending unrestricted free agent and at 35 years old, will be in tough to land a contract. He's produced 15 points in 55 games so far in 2022-23, and is a solid shut-down option. Look for the Senators to give Erik Brannstrom minutes over keeping Holden next season.
