Boston Bruins Forward to Have Hearing With Player Safety
During Thursday's (March 23) win against the Montreal Canadiens, Boston Bruins forward A.J. Greer received a five-minute major and game misconduct for cross-checking Mike Hoffman in the face while lining up for a faceoff.

When looking at this play, it is not too surprising that Greer has a date with NHL player safety. Although Hoffman gave Greer a soft slash before the play, that did not justify the 26-year-old forward cross-checking him in the face.
Whether Greer meant to hit him in the face or not does not ultimately matter, as this will likely lead to either a fine or a suspension for the Quebec native. We will now need to wait and see what his exact penalty will be.
Greer has been a very solid fourth-line addition to the Bruins' roster this season. In 52 games on the campaign, he has five goals, six assists, 94 hits, and 85 penalty minutes.
