Boston Bruins Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.
In this latest episode of the series, we will be focusing on the NHL’s top team, the Boston Bruins.
Matt Grzelcyk: Matt Grzelcyk could find himself off of his hometown team this summer, as the Bruins need to free up cap space if they want to bring Dmitry Orlov. Orlov has been a notable upgrade over Grzelcyk in their top four, so that could open the door to the latter being moved. With that, the Bruins could get a sweet return for him, so it could be an avenue worth exploring.
Jakub Zboril: Jakub Zboril has barely been utilized this season by the Bruins, as their defensive depth has been outstanding. As a result, the Bruins could look to do right by the 2015 first-round pick and trade him to a team where he would have more opportunities.
Mike Reilly: Due to the Bruins’ strong defensive depth, Mike Reilly and his $3 million cap hit has been buried in the AHL. The Bruins would love to get his contract completely off the books, but it will take sweeteners to get another club to take his cap hit on.
