Columbus Blue Jackets Rumors: Devils Defenseman On Team's Radar
The Columbus Blue Jackets have had a horrible 2022-23 season, and they are set to make changes to their group this offseason because of it. One of their primary objectives is to add a left-shot defenseman this summer, and one pending unrestricted free agent that they are expected to pursue is Ryan Graves.
If the New Jersey Devils are unable to sign Graves to a new contract or simply let him walk straight into free agency, it would make sense for the Blue Jackets to pursue him. After all, they traded Vladislav Gavrikov before the deadline to the Los Angeles Kings, and Graves would be a solid replacement for him.
If Graves becomes a free agent, several teams will make a push for him, as he can play top-four minutes, occasionally chip in offensively, and plays a reliable defensive game. However; we will need to wait and see if the Blue Jackets end up being the club that signs him this offseason if he officially hits the open market.
