Edmonton Oilers Sign Prospect
The Edmonton Oilers have signed prospect Jake Chiasson to a three-year, entry-level contract. It will begin next season.
Chiasson was selected with the 116th overall pick of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft by the Oilers, and now he will officially be a part of their roster starting next season.
Chiasson has split the 2022-23 season between the Brandon Wheat Kings and Saskatoon Blades of the WHL, where he had 20 goals to go along with 54 points in 66 games. Overall, it has been another solid season in junior for the 19-year-old forward, and now he has earned this sweet ELC because of it.
Chiasson will now be aiming to impress the Oilers during training camp this summer. Although he will likely need to spend some time in the NHL, we will need to wait and see if he can become a full-time NHL player later down the road from here.
