Maple Leafs Provide Update on Captain's Status
Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares skated by himself on Monday, two days after taking two crushing hits against the Vancouver Canucks. While his team prepared for the New Jersey Devils on Tuesday (Mar.7), Tavares was trying to get back to full health.
The Leafs captain admitted to the team he wasn't feeling like himself these past couple of days and Tavares will sit out against the Devils. This comes with the news Ryan O'Reilly has a broken finger and will be out at least three weeks.
As for Tavares, these were the two hits he endured and frankly, he needs to keep his head up or else he's going to miss more time than just one game:
