The Wild selected Spacek with the 153rd overall pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, and it is a move that they certainly do not regret. The 6-foot defenseman is currently putting together a strong season in the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL), as he has 10 goals to go along with 36 assists in 49 games. With that, he also has an impressive plus-43 rating.
Spacek also dominated during this year's World Junior Championship, as he recorded eight points in seven games for Czechia. That, naturally, helped raise his value a bit as a prospect.
Although Spacek is a fifth-round pick, he certainly could end up being a full-time NHLer as he continues to develop his game. We will need to wait and see if he can make an impact for the Wild later down the road and become a solid NHL defenseman just like his father, Jaroslav Spacek.
