Ottawa Senators Star Defenseman Out Multiple Weeks
The Ottawa Senators came into 2022/23 with plenty of expectations following a fantastic off-season, and while they've failed to build consistency throughout the year, they find themselves just 5 points out of a playoff spot with less than 3 weeks to play.
That playoff push took a major blow earlier today as Ottawa's Head Coach confirmed that star trade deadline acquisition Jakob Chychrun would be out a couple of weeks with a lower body injury, potentially putting him out for the remainder of the regular season.
In 12 games with the Senators since being acquired from the Arizona Coyotes, Chychrun has put up 2 goals and 3 assists for 5 points, but his impact on the team goes beyond the stat sheet, so they'll be hoping that they can continue competing without him ahead of a potential return with games to play.OTT head coach DJ Smith said this morning that Jakob Chychrun out a couple of weeks with a lower-body injury; Ridly Greig out for rest of season with a sternum injury.
