Granlund gives the Penguins some depth for their middle-six and his versatility will compliment Mike Sullivan's lineup. In 58 games this season Granlund has recorded 36 points and his $5 million cap hit runs through the 2024-25 season.
Hextall was busy moving some parts around up front and could turn to his defense and goaltending depth before Friday's deadline. He said he didn't want to move any top draft picks for rentals and stays true to his word as Granlund has some team control. The Pens third line has been their worst this season, Hextall hopes this will help.
