Philadelphia Flyers Sign Prospect
The Philadelphia Flyers have added to their prospect pool, as they have signed defenseman Will Zmolek to a one-year, entry-level contract (ELC).
Zmolek just completed his four-year collegiate career with Bemidji State University. This past season was his best year, however, as he scored four goals and set new career highs with 17 assists and 21 points. Therefore, it appears he is heading in the right direction with his development, and now he has earned this sweet ELC from the Flyers in the process.
With the Flyers being among the worst teams in the NHL, it makes sense that they are taking a chance on a prospect like Zmolek. At worst, he will provide them with more depth at the AHL level this season, but let's see if he can be more than just that for them from here.
In 126 career collegiate games, Zmolek had nine goals, 37 assists, 46 points, and a plus-5 rating.
