San Jose Sharks Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Candidates
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' offseason trade candidates series. During it, we will be looking at three players from each team who could be moved during the summer.
In this first episode, we will be taking a look at the rebuilding San Jose Sharks.
Erik Karlsson: Erik Karlsson is of course the big name that the Sharks could move during the summer. GM Mike Grier had trade talks before the deadline centering around the superstar defenseman, but Karlsson's massive cap hit made it too difficult to complete a trade. However, with teams having more money to work with during the summer, don't be surprised to see Karlsson dealt while his value is high again.
Kevin Labanc: Kevin Labanc was in the rumor mill before the deadline passed, but he remains a Shark at the time of this writing. However, with San Jose rebuilding and Labanc having a solid year, several teams are likely to pursue him during the offseason. While playing at his best, he is a strong middle-six forward to have.
Mario Ferraro: Mario Ferraro is another Shark who could be on the move this summer. Teams expressed interest in him leading up to the deadline, and he has shown that he can play top-four minutes. Some teams who could make a push for him this offseason include the Detroit Red Wing, St. Louis Blues, and Washington Capitals.
