Vegas netminders have not been able to stay healthy this season and the 37-year-old Quick will help provide some stability. His numbers are down this season as the struggles have continued, posting a 3.50 GAA and a .876 save %.
Quick is a pending free agent who is owed $5.8 million this season. He does not have any trade protection on his contract, however isn't expected to be dealt anymore ahead of the Friday afternoon deadline.
Word is when Kings GM Rob Blake gave Quick the news (over phone) he flipped out. The same can be said for Drew Doughty and Anze Kopitar who were called shortly after by Blake.
