Video: Maple Leafs Lose Forward to Head Injury After Nasty Collision
Toronto Maple Leafs forward Noel Acciari left Friday night's game against the Carolina Hurricanes after he collided with 'Canes forward Jesse Puljujarvi and got the worst of it.
While Puljujarvi didn't appear to intentionally want to hurt Acciari, he did get his hands up and smoked the Leafs forward right on the chin with the butt end of his stick. Acciari stayed down for a few moments and left the ice, and didn't return.
Toronto plays the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night so we'll have to wait and see if he's healthy enough to return to the lineup. The Maple Leafs dressed only 11 forwards against the Canes and once 'Cookie' went down, had to play the rest of the game with 10. They defeated the Hurricanes 5-2 in the process.
