Washington Capitals Activate Veteran Defenceman

The Washington Capitals have struggled throughout the 2022/23 NHL season, as they find themselves six points behind Pittsburgh for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference, and if they have any hope left of chasing down that spot, they need plenty of things to go their way over the next few weeks.

On Thursday, they got one of the biggest boosts possible, as veteran defenceman John Carlson was officially activated following a gruesome injury back in December after starting the season with a solid 21 points in 30 games played.

With tough games coming up against Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay and both New York teams, Carlson will need to step into the lineup and fire immediately, because if not, it appears the Capitals chance at a Stanley Cup in 2023 will go begging.
