Washington Capitals Star Makes More History On Tuesday Night
The Washington Capitals have been one of the NHL's best franchises over the past two decades, and the reason for that can be boiled down to one incredibly successful superstar, and that is Alexander Ovechkin, drafted No. 1 overall back 2004.
With a goal in the loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday, Ovechkin scored his 40th goal of the season, and in the process, he officially passed Wayne Gretzky for the most 40-goal seasons in the history of the NHL with 13.
The Great 8 is now less than 80 goals away from chasing down Gretzky for the most in NHL history, but for now, we can celebrate another milestone for one of the greatest players to ever lace up the skates.ANOTHER OVI MILESTONE 😱
