Winnipeg Jets Head Coach Interested In Keeping Star Forward
The Winnipeg Jets are currently in a fight for the final Wild Card spot in the Western Conference, and given their veteran roster, the team have plenty of expectations on their shoulders, as well as potential to build for success in the future.
A key piece of that potential success is forward Pierre Luc-Dubois, who was acquired in the deal sending Patrick Laine to Columbus, and while there's been plenty of links to his hometown Montreal Canadiens at the end of his contract, it's now been reported that Head Coach Rick Bowness has been fighting to keep him long-term.
In 66 games this year, Luc-Dubois has put up 25 goals and 33 assists for 58 points, and while he's potentially not having the year that some expected, he's a key cog to this forward group, and if they can bring him back, it will be a major positive for the organization.
