Anaheim Ducks Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Cam Fowler
The Anaheim Ducks have begun their preseason with a bang, firing head coach Dallas Eakins. That is one notable change, but more are expected to be on the way. After finishing the 2022-23 season with a 13-game losing streak, Cam Fowler is starting to stand out as a prime trade candidate. The veteran defenseman likely wants the opportunity to play for a postseason team at this point of his career, and the Ducks are far from that. Thus, let's discuss three possible landing spots for him.
Washington Capitals: The Washington Capitals may have missed the playoffs this year, but they are heading into the 2023-24 campaign with the expectation of turning things around. For that to occur, they will need to make some big moves this summer. When noting that they traded Dmitry Orlov to the Boston Bruins, Fowler could be a great replacement for him in their top four.
Seattle Kraken: The Seattle Kraken could be on the hunt for a top-four left-shot defenseman this summer when noting that Carson Soucy is a pending unrestricted free agent. Acquiring Fowler would provide them with just that, and he could be a great match on their second pairing with William Borgen.
Florida Panthers: A major reason for the Florida Panthers' inconsistencies this season has been their defensive group. Their left side, in particular, could use a notable upgrade, and Fowler would give them that. He would be a great option on their top pairing with Aaron Ekblad but also could work playing second-pairing minutes with Brandon Montour.
