Calgary Flames D-Man Calls Out Franchise's Need For A New Arena
The Calgary Flames 2022/23 season was one of the most disappointing in recent memory, and with plenty of question marks hanging over the franchise going forward, one of the biggest talking points around the team has once again come to the fore.
That would be the issue of the ageing Scotiabank Saddledome, which is the most antiquated in the entire NHL, and during the Flames exit interviews with the media, Mackenzie Weegar brought it up, saying that the team needs a new building in order to make it more fun for the players and the fans alike.
Although iconic, the Saddledome is clearly past its due date, and if the Flames want to attract future free agents, along with the pressure of the Canadian market, the building is one of their biggest obstacles, and it's one that needs to be taken away.MacKenzie Weegar calls out how the Flames need a new building. I haven't heard many guys talk about that publicly.
