Calgary Flames Rumors: Forward Emerging as Trade Candidate

After an immensely disappointing 2022-23 season, the Calgary Flames are expected to make changes to their roster this summer. Tyler Toffoli is a specific player who is emerging as a possible trade candidate for them, as he is entering the final year of his contract, and his trade value is at its highest.

On an offensively weak Flames team this season, Toffoli was marvelous, as he had set new career highs with 34 goals, 39 assists, and 73 points in 82 games. However, when noting that he is soon to be a pending UFA, the Flames could take advantage of his heightened trade value and land a big return for him.

There is no question that teams around the league would love to add Toffoli, as he has shown over the years that he can be a quality second-line forward. Although another 73-point campaign would be a major ask from the 30-year-old winger, he would still be a big addition for another club.

Alas, we will now need to wait and see if the Flames elect to move Toffoli this offseason from here.
