Carolina Hurricanes Winger Suffers Broken Hand In Game Two Victory

The Carolina Hurricanes fought off a tough New York Islanders squad in Game Two of their first round series, pushing them to 2-0 with full advantage as the series shifts to Long Island, but unfortunately, they didn't get out of Game Two completely unscathed.

According to Rod Brind'Amour, veteran winger Teuvo Teravainen broke his hand during the win, and will need surgery to repair it, and given history, it appears that will come with at least a five week recovery period.

In the regular season, Teravainen put up 12 goals and 25 assists for 37 points, so he will be missed as an offensive force, and if they are to go deep in the playoffs, they'll need to find that contribution elsewhere, especially when they come across the likes of the Lightning, Rangers, Bruins or Maple Leafs.
