Colorado Avalanche Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Samuel Girard
The Colorado Avalanche are expected to listen to offers for Samuel Girard this offseason. As a result, let's discuss three potential landing spots for the 24-year-old defenseman.
New Jersey Devils: The New Jersey Devils could be on the hunt for a left-shot defenseman this offseason, as Ryan Graves is a pending UFA. Girard would be a great addition to New Jersey's current group, as he would provide them with another top-four defenseman. With that, Girard can also play both sides, so he would fit anywhere in their lineup.
Pittsburgh Penguins: Sticking with the Metropolitan Division, the Pittsburgh Penguins could be in the mix for Girard as well. Brian Dumoulin is a pending UFA, and Girard would be an upgrade over young players like Ty Smith and Pierre-Olivier Joseph. With that, the Penguins should be looking to improve their top four if they hope to be a playoff team in 2023-24.
Los Angeles Kings: The Los Angeles Kings stand out as a possible landing spot for Girard as well. Although they have found a short-term solution for the left side of their defensive group in Vladislav Gavrikov, he is expected to test the market. Thus, don't be surprised if the Kings call the Avalanche about Girard, as he would immediately fit into their top four.
