New Jersey Devils Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2023 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.
In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the New Jersey Devils.
Matt Dumba: With Damon Severson being a pending UFA, the Devils will need to find a replacement for him in their top four if he elects to sign elsewhere. If this does occur, look for the Devils to make a push for Matt Dumba. Like Severson, he is a legitimate top-four defenseman while playing at his best, so he would be a wise addition to New Jersey.
Vladislav Gavrikov: Vladislav Gavrikov could also be a target for the Devils this offseason. Fellow left-shot defenseman Ryan Graves is set to hit the open market and if the Devils lose him, Gavrikov would be a very solid replacement for him.
Nick Ritchie: If Miles Woods signs elsewhere this offseason, the Devils could replace him with another power forward like Nick Ritchie. Ritchie would work well in their bottom six, as he provides solid secondary scoring to go along with immense physicality. In 70 games this season, the 27-year-old has 13 goals and 13 assists.
