New York Islanders Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Jean-Gabriel Pageau
After adding Bo Horvat to their roster, the New York Islanders' center depth has become a bit crowded. As a result of this, Jean-Gabriel Pageau has emerged as a possible trade candidate this offseason. Let's discuss three possible landing spots for the 30-year-old forward.
Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes were linked to Pageau leading up to the deadline, but a deal did not come to fruition. However, perhaps things could change on that front this offseason, as they have yet to find a legitimate replacement for Vincent Trocheck as their second-line center. With that, they also could lose Jordan Staal this offseason, as he is a pending UFA.
Columbus Blue Jackets: The Columbus Blue Jackets stand out as a team who could make a push to acquire Pageau. After all, their center depth is immensely weak, and bringing in a player like Pageau could be a way to help this ongoing issue a bit. If acquired, he could slot nicely as their 2C.
Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche are likely going to add at least one center to their roster this summer. This is because they have multiple pending UFAs down the middle, and it's a position that has needed a boost since they lost Nazem Kadri this offseason. Thus, expect them to be in on the Pageau sweepstakes.
