NHL Rumors: 3 Landing Spots For Blackhawks' Connor Murphy

With the Chicago Blackhawks primed for a full rebuild, they'll likely be making some of their veteran players available.

One name who will definitely be available is defenseman Connor Murphy.

Here are three potential landing spots for the 30-year-old:

Buffalo Sabres

The Buffalo Sabres are looking to improve their defensive play and are a team to keep an eye on in a trade for Connor Murphy of the Chicago Blackhawks. As a big shutdown defender, Murphy would be a good fit for the young Sabres roster and could benefit playing alongside some better talent. The Sabres could be a promising landing spot for Murphy to contribute to the team's growth and development.

Washington Capitals

The Washington Capitals are in need of adding a defenseman this offseason and should consider Connor Murphy of the Chicago Blackhawks. Murphy would bring a solid defensive presence and experience to the Capitals, having played in over 600 NHL games. The Blackhawks will be willing to move Murphy, who has three years left on his contract with a $4.4 million average cap hit, as they continue to rebuild their team. The Capitals should prioritize adding a physical defenseman like Murphy to improve their chances of contending for the Stanley Cup next season.

Nashville Predators

The Nashville Predators could benefit from adding a defenseman to their roster this offseason. One potential option is Connor Murphy, a right-shot defenseman who has been a consistent top-four option for the Chicago Blackhawks. Murphy's defensive prowess and physicality could complement the Predators' current defensive corps, which includes offensive-minded players like Roman Josi. Additionally, Murphy's experience and leadership could be valuable assets for a relatively young Predators team. Overall, Murphy could be a solid addition for the Predators if they are looking to round out their defense. Photo Credit:  Sergei Belski-USA TODAY Sports
