NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target J.T. Compher This Offseason
J.T. Compher has been having an excellent season as the Colorado Avalanche’s second-line center this year, and he should land a big raise this offseason because of it. As a result, let’s discuss three teams who are expected to target him this offseason.
Colorado Avalanche: The Avalanche will work hard to keep Compher around. As noted above, he has been a great fit for their 2C role. With that, Colorado's center depth is not particularly strong after him, so they will surely be aiming to keep him around. However, when noting that he has 50 points in 77 games, he will be looking for a raise.
Carolina Hurricanes: The Carolina Hurricanes are looking to improve down the middle, as they have yet to find a true replacement for Vincent Trocheck as their 2C. Compher could be a potential option for that role, as he has played well in it for Colorado this season.
Columbus Blue Jackets: The Columbus Blue Jackets are looking to turn things back around in 2023-24 and be competitive again. As a result, they are expected to be aggressive in free agency, and they could look to bring in Compher to strengthen their center group for 2023-24 and onward.
