NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Milan Lucic This Offseason

Milan Lucic's seven-year, $42 million contract expires after this season. Although he will certainly not be making $6 million per season again, there is a chance that the veteran winger could land a cheap one-year deal this summer due to his physicality and toughness. Let's discuss three teams who are expected to target him because of it.

Boston Bruins: Lucic will always be remembered for his time with the Boston Bruins. He was a major contributor to their 2011 Stanley Cup run, and the Bruins even tried to bring him back at the deadline but could not make it work financially. Therefore, don't be surprised if they bring back Lucic on a cheap one-year deal this offseason.

Calgary Flames: We should not rule out the possibility of the Flames re-signing Lucic, either. He has worked as a fourth-liner for them and has been a good leader in their locker room. Therefore, they could bring him back at a much cheaper cap hit.

Florida Panthers: Former NHL star Keith Tkachuk recently ripped the Florida Panthers for being "a soft team." Perhaps the Panthers could look to add some toughness and grit to their fourth line because of it. Bringing in a free agent like Lucic would give them just that.
