NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Radko Gudas This Offseason

Florida Panthers defenseman Radko Gudas is a pending unrestricted free agent who should get a good amount of attention on the open market this summer. The 32-year-old is a serviceable bottom-pairing defenseman who plays a heavy game and can kill penalties. In 72 games this season with Florida, he has two goals, 15 assists, a plus-14 rating, and 312 hits.

Let's now discuss three specific teams who are expected to target Gudas this offseason.

Tampa Bay Lightning: The Tampa Bay Lightning could use an upgrade on their right side, and Gudas would be a nice addition to their group because of it. It also does not hurt that he is a familiar face, as he spent his first three seasons with the Lightning. Thus, look for them to send him an offer this summer.

Detroit Red Wings: The Detroit Red Wings are another team who are expected to add at least one right-shot defenseman this offseason. Therefore, they certainly should be in the mix for Gudas' services this offseason. He would provide their defensive group with a solid veteran and more toughness.

Calgary Flames: The Flames will be looking to add a right-shot defenseman this offseason. When noting that Gudas plays a heavy game, he seems like a great fit for the Flames' current system. Thus, do not be surprised if they look to sign him this summer because of it.
