NHL Rumors: 3 Teams Expected to Target Max Pacioretty This Offseason

Max Pacioretty's 2022-23 season ended after just five games played after he tore his Achilles for a second time. As a result of this, if the veteran winger wants to play another season, he will likely be forced to sign a cheap deal. Due to this, let's discuss three clubs who are expected to make a push for him.

Edmonton Oilers: The Edmonton Oilers are already being viewed as a possible landing spot for Pacioretty, and it makes sense. After all, there is no question that they could use another high-impact winger, and that is exactly what he is when he's fully healthy. If they can ink him a cheap contract, this is an avenue worth exploring.

Minnesota Wild: Due to the Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties, the Minnesota Wild will not have much money to work with this summer. As a result, Pacioretty could be somebody who they elect to pursue. He is unlikely to cost much of anything due to his injury trouble, and it could be a home run of a signing for them if he stays healthy.

Montreal Canadiens: There has been some buzz over the possibility of the Montreal Canadiens bringing back Pacioretty. This would be quite intriguing to see, as he of course was their former captain. If the Canadiens feel that he could be a valuable mentor for their younger players, this could be something that they consider.
