NHL Rumors: Conflicting Reports On The Future Of Calgary Flames Head Coach
The Calgary Flames were one of the best teams in the entire NHL in 2021/22, and were expected to take another step after some big moves in the off-season, but unfortunately, they couldn't quite put it together, eventually missing the playoffs entirely.
There's been many talking points in the few days since their season concluded, with one of the biggest being the future of veteran Head Coach Darryl Sutter, and recently, NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman said he believes Sutter will be back on the bench once again in 2023/24.
Others around the Flames organization however see Sutter's departure as necessary for success moving forward, and while it's tough to see a move being made soon, there's no doubting that they've got some big decisions to make soon.Elliotte Friedman mentioned on the Jeff Marek show that Don Maloney and Craig Conroy have signed contract extensions to stay with the Flames.
