Ottawa Senators Rumors: 3 Offseason Trade Targets
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' Offseason Trade Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three players each team in the NHL should try to acquire through trade.
In this latest installment, we will be focusing on the Ottawa Senators.
MacKenzie Weegar: The Senators were heavily linked to Calgary Flames defenseman MacKenzie Weegar before the deadline passed. Although a move did not occur, the Senators still have until July 1st until his extension and full no-trade clause kick in. Therefore, there is still time for them to add the Ottawa native to their top four.
Colton Parayko: The Senators could also look at Colton Parayko as a right-shot top-four defenseman to target. He also linked to them before the deadline, and he would be in the running to play top-pairing minutes for them if acquired by them. However, he has a full NMC, so he would need to okay any move centering around him.
Will Borgen: If the Senators want to improve their right side and not give up too much, Seattle Kraken defenseman Will Borgen could be a target worth pursuing. Borgen was in the rumor mill leading up to the deadline, and the Senators could use a shutdown d-man.
