Toronto Maple Leafs Rumors: 3 Free Agents to Target This Offseason
Welcome to NHL Trade Rumors' 2023 Free-Agent Targets series. During it, we will be discussing three pending unrestricted free agents that each team should aim to sign.
In this latest episode, we will be focusing on the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Jason Zucker: If the Maple Leafs lose Michael Bunting to free agency this offseason, they could look to bring in a fellow top-six winger in Jason Zucker. The 31-year-old is having a strong bounce-back campaign this year with the Pittsburgh Penguins, as he has 26 goals and 46 points in 72 games played.
Oskar Sundqvist: The Maple Leafs have multiple pending UFAs who are bottom-six forwards, so we should expect them to add at least one to their roster through free agency. Oskar Sundqvist stands out as an excellent target for them because of this, as he can play both center and the wing. With that, he chips in offensively while utilized in a bottom-six role.
Radko Gudas: The Maple Leafs could look to add a bottom-pairing right-shot defenseman this offseason as well. Radko Gudas stands out as a possible target for them, as he is a steady defensive defenseman who also plays a heavy game.
