Vancouver Canucks Rumors: Forward to be Shopped
The Vancouver Canucks need to clear up cap space this offseason, and they are reportedly open to moving winger Conor Garland this offseason because of it.
Garland's name has been in the rumor mill for a while, and now it is expected to carry over to the summer. It ultimately makes sense, as the Massachusetts native carries a $4.95 million cap hit until the completion of the 2025-26 season. That would be a good amount of money to get off the books. With that, he also has zero trade protection, so moving him would be quite easy if they get the kind of deal that they are looking for.
Garland scored 17 goals and recorded 45 points in 81 games this season with the Canucks. Overall, it was another solid year from him offensively, and that could lead to teams calling about his services this offseason. He has proven that he is a solid middle-six option, so looks for teams in need of some secondary scoring to be in the mix for his services this summer.
