Washington Capitals Sign Prospect To Entry Level Deal
The Washington Capitals failed to make the post-season for the first time in quite some time, and now, it appears that they are looking to improve upon their future, as their recent focus has been very veteran-heavy.
The team have now signed defensemen Hardy Häman Aktell to a one-year, two-way entry level contract that's worth $775,000, and while he's not expected to come in and contribute immediately, he's going to be a genuine player for them in the future.
The 24-year old was picked in the fourth round of the 2016 NHL Draft, but hasn't yet made the leap to the United States, and after a 9-goal, 27-assist season in 51 games in 2022/23 in Sweden, he could no doubt come in and compete for a roster spot next season for Washington.NEWS | The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Hardy Häman Aktell to a one-year, two-way entry-level contract ($775,000/$82,500).#ALLCAPS
