Boston Bruins Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Connor Clifton
Connor Clifton's time with the Boston Bruins could be over, as he is a pending UFA, and the B's are in cap hell. As a result, two teams are already preparing to target him this offseason – the Buffalo Sabres and New York Islanders.
The Sabres are looking to improve the right side of their defensive group, as it is a clear weakness on their roster. As a result, it is understandable that they are considering Clifton as a free-agent target. He would be a good fit on either their second or third pairing if signed and would provide their defensive group with much more physicality.
The Islanders could be on the hunt for a right-shot defenseman when noting that Scott Mayfield is also a pending UFA. If he walks, they are expected to make Clifton their primary target to replace him. He would work nicely on their bottom pairing and penalty kill – just like Mayfield has.
