Landeskog will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee tomorrow in Chicago. He missed the entire current season because of the knee injury and now will have to wait until the 2024-25 season to continue his career.
The 30-year-old has been dealing with a cartilage injury below the patella. He can walk fine, but he says that skating has been a “different beast.”
The issues began back in 2020 when he was gashed above the knee. He had surgery then, and again underwent arthroscopic knee surgery after the 2021-22 season. Now, he'll go under the knife for a third time.
Landeskog still has six seasons remaining on an eight-year, $56M contract.
In his 11 years in Colorado, Landeskog has 248 goals and 571 points in 738 games.
