Conroy has been the assistant GM in Calgary since 2014-15, and had been in the Flames' front office since his retirement in 2011. Many had expected him to be Brad Treliving’s replacement after his departure following the season. Conroy was also a player with the Flames in an earlier life, and was part of their 2004 Finals run.
Hearing this will likely get announced on Tuesday.

A massive accomplishment for Conroy.
I'm told the search was VERY thorough, with an initial list of close to 40 candidates. The #Flames consulted with Gary Bettman and Colin Campbell as well.
Conroy earned this, 100%. https://t.co/TxATLsmVGZ
Others who had been under consideration for the job included Dave Nonis, Stan Bowman and Marc Bergevin.
The announcement is expected to take place on Tuesday.
