Buffalo Sabres Rumors: Goalie On Team's Radar
The Buffalo Sabres are expected to pursue a goalie this offseason. Craig Anderson retired, while Eric Comrie struggled immensely during his first year as a Sabre. As a result, they are currently looking at Joonas Korpisalo as a possible free-agent option.
Korpisalo had a fantastic season split between the Columbus Blue Jackets and Los Angeles Kings in 2022-23. If the Kings are unable to bring him back or opt to go in a different direction with their goaltending, Korpisalo will get a ton of attention on the open market. After all, he is one of the top pending UFA goalies. Thus, Buffalo would have a lot of competition.
The Sabres have the money to bring in Korpisalo with ease, however, so they have that working in their favor. Furthermore, going into next season with a tandem of Korpisalo and top prospect Devon Levi would be excellent. Let’s see if Buffalo can land the veteran netminder from here.
