Buffalo Sabres Rumors: Wild Defenseman On Team's Radar
Matt Dumba’s time with the Minnesota Wild is likely over due to their limited cap space from the Ryan Suter and Zach Parise buyout penalties. As a result, teams are preparing to target him this summer, and the Buffalo Sabres are expected to be at the top of the list.
The Sabres need a top-four, right-shot defenseman, and Dumba fits that description while performing at his best. With that, he is one of the most notable pending UFA defensemen set to hit the market, so it is not surprising that he is now reportedly on the Sabres’ radar.
Dumba would be a good addition, as he would be a veteran presence to play with either Rasmus Dahlin or Owen Power. With that, he would be a candidate to play on both their power play and penalty kill.
The Sabres have the cap space to bring in Dumba this summer, and we will now need to wait and see if they can do just that from here.
