Corey Perry Discusses Playing Future
Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry just completed his age-37 season, and many have naturally wondered if the 2022-23 campaign would be his last. However, while speaking with Chris Krenn, Perry had this to say about his playing future: “I’ve still got more in me. I still want to play. We’ll see where it goes over the next few weeks and then take it from there.”

With this development, it is clear if Perry has it his way, he will play during the 2022-23 season. He certainly showed that he can still be effective in a bottom-six role with the Lightning this year as well, as he had 12 goals and 25 points in 81 games played.
If the Lightning decide to move on from Perry, there still should be a decent market for him over the summer if he is open to signing a cheap deal. We will now need to wait and see what happens with Perry from here.
In 1,257 career games over 18 seasons, he has 417 goals, 466 assists, and 883 points.
