Detroit Red Wings Rumors: Ducks Star Goalie Becoming Trade Target
The Detroit Red Wings are looking to become a playoff team next season, but if they hope for that to come to fruition, they will need to have a busy offseason. One area that needs serious improvement in their goaltending, and now Anaheim Ducks netminder John Gibson is becoming a trade target because of it.
The Ducks are expected to move Gibson this offseason. The Pittsburgh native is looking for the opportunity of a fresh start, and there will be no shortage of interest in him. After all, while he is performing at his highest level, he is elite. With the Red Wings needing help in goal, there could be a good match here.
Gibson would prove to be a serious upgrade as the Red Wings' starter over Ville Husso and could be the addition they need to jump up in the standings next season. We will now need to wait and see if the Red Wings can successfully bring in the star goalie from here. Other teams linked to him include the Buffalo Sabres, Ottawa Senators, and Los Angeles Kings.
