Maple Leafs Ilya Samsonov Injured in Game 3 vs Panthers
The Toronto Maple Leafs have a huge mountain to climb if they want to continue their season and by the sounds of it, may be moving on without goaltender Ilya Samsonov.
The Russian netminder was laid out by Maple Leafs defenseman Luke Schenn during the second period of Game 3. Schenn slid into his goalie while trying to prevent a Panthers forward from making his way to the front of the net.

Rookie Joseph Woll came in for relief and stopped 18 of 21 saves. Woll was able to get the Maple Leafs to overtime, but unfortunately for Leafs Nation, Panthers forward Sam Reinhart converted on a set wrap-around play and sealed the victory.
For now, the Maple Leafs have no clue who will be starting in net on Wednesday when Game 4 begins. Two-time Stanley Cup champion Matt Murray was reported cleared and healthy for Game 3, but did not dress. An interesting development in this all.
