Maple Leafs Ryan O'Reilly Discusses Future in Toronto
The Toronto Maple Leafs met with the media on Monday and one player who had lots to say was Ryan O'Reilly. While he was rather hard on himself for his Stanley Cup Playoff performance, it was some comments around staying with the team which caught hockey insider Chris Johnston's eye.
Ryan O'Reilly says he hasn't given much thought to his pending unrestricted free agency, but he certainly sounded more inclined to test the open market on July 1 than try and work out an extension with the #leafs.

O'Reilly admitted he's still reflecting on what just happened and how the Maple Leafs were eliminated by the Florida Panthers who were much faster and more aggressive during their five-game series. The Leafs forward is going to take a few weeks and enjoy some time with his family to see exactly how he'd like things to play out moving forward.
O'Reilly is one of the biggest names on the free agent market and there's going to be a ton of interest across the league as almost all of the Stanley Cup contenders are going to want a conversation. After a blazing start to the playoffs, the veteran center finished with nine points in 11 games. During the regular season O'Reilly put up 11 points in 13 games with the Leafs after 19 points in 40 games with St Louis.
