Minnesota Wild Rumors: 2 Teams Linked to Gustav Nyquist
The Minnesota Wild are in salary cap hell due to the buyout penalties for Zach Parise and Ryan Suter. As a result, they are set to lose multiple players this offseason, and one of them is likely to be Gustav Nyquist. As a result, two teams are already considering him as a free-agent target for the summer – the Calgary Flames and Colorado Avalanche.
The Flames had Nyquist on their radar leading up to the deadline, but the Wild of course were the team that landed him. However, with secondary scoring being a major issue for the Flames this season, they will look to change that this summer. Thus, it makes sense that they are now looking at Nyquist as a free-agent target. He would be a nice addition to their middle six if signed.
The Colorado Avalanche have several pending UFA forwards, and they will be active in free agency because of it. With their third line needing a boost specifically, it is not too surprising to see that Nyquist is on their radar as well.
