NHL Rumors: 3 Potential Landing Spots for Corey Perry
It was recently reported that Tampa Bay Lightning forward Corey Perry is expected to hit the free-agent market. When noting that he is still an effective bottom-six forward at this juncture of his career and has plenty of overall experience, there should be interest in him. As a result, let's discuss three potential landing spots for him.
Toronto Maple Leafs: The Toronto Maple Leafs have been linked to Perry, and it ultimately makes sense. They have several pending UFAs who are bottom-six forwards, so Perry would be a quality option for them. With that, he would provide them with a player who has a Stanley Cup on their resume, and that's key when noting that Toronto is looking to win their first since 1967.
Boston Bruins: Sticking in the Atlantic Division, the Boston Bruins could be in the mix for Perry's services. Their entire fourth line of Nick Foligno, Tomas Nosek, and Garnet Hathaway can hit the market this summer, so Perry would make sense as a target. With the Bruins also being contenders, Perry could be open to the prospect of playing there.
Colorado Avalanche: The Colorado Avalanche are reportedly interested in Perry, and it makes sense when noting that they have several pending UFA forwards. Perry would provide their bottom six with a big boost, so there is a match here on paper.
